What is a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)?

A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is an entry-level member of a patient’s healthcare team, performing important patient-centered tasks such as activities of daily living (ADL) under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. Because CNAs typically spend more time with the patients than other healthcare team members, the CNA’s role is very vital to the patient.

What is the age requirement to enter the CNA program, and any other requirements?

 -Prospective students must be 17 years of age and/or have parental consent on file before day 1 of orientation.
-Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
-Be in good health and able to bend, twist, lift at least 50 pounds, and be free from communicable disease
-Not be listed on the LTCF employment clearance registry with a disqualification. If unsure, please give us a call at 501) 240-6684.

How long is the CNA program?

-If following the traditional day program, you will attend for 3 weeks with two of the days being clinicals.

-Night program is 4 weeks with two 8-hour days of clinicals.

 - Saturday classes are 10 meeting days

 

Do you offer an online CNA course, day/evening, or weekends?

-We are building our online platform. This option is for the working student that just can’t make in-person class. Do note  there are requirements that still must be met, such as in-person final testing, skills check-off in person, assignment deadlines, and 2 clinical days. The timeframe to complete the program is contingent on the selected program selected. What does a Phlebotomist Technician (PBT) do?

-Phlebotomists draw and prepare blood for medical testing, transfusions, or donation. Phlebotomists are trained to collect blood via venipuncture, finger pricks, or in the case of infants, heel pricks. National Certification is being added. National Certification is not required in the state of Arkansas. There are four states that require National Certification (Nevada, Washington, Louisiana, and California). It’s always smiled upon, usually compensated higher on jobs, and self gratifying to receive National Certification. We encourage you to go for it!!

Do you offer CPR?

-Yes, we have an onsite AHA approved CPR instructor. Everyone may have different needs, so please contact us so that we can provide you with the best rate, and options. (501 240-6684)

What is the tuition price for each course?

The CNA program is $725 which includes a non-refundable $25 registration fee. State testing fee is $125 and is NOT included in tuition price. You will receive 1 uniform (pants, and bottom, stethoscope, books, blood pressure cuff, amongst other items needed to be successful.

Phlebotomy program is $475.00

EKG program is $600.00 (Future program to be offered)

CPR prices varies by specific needs. Students past/present always receive discounts for CPR if enrolled in a class at Aspiring Medical Training Institute.

Do you offer multi-class discounts, payment plans or other options?

-Yes, if enrolling any multiple plans please inform the admission coordinator so that you can receive your discount of 25% off each program after enrolling in the highest paying program. Please understand all payments must be completed before certificates of completion will be issued (CNA only) Phlebotomy and CPR must be paid in full.

Do you allow Sponsorships?

-Yes, sponsorships from any nursing home, company, or individual that is willing to pay for classes will be accepted. The program director must speak with the DON or administrator that is responsible for payment at a nursing home or company, as well as receive a signed contract for services prior to day 1 start day of class selected.  There are also many other programs that assist with payments as well as tuition reimbursements. Is there a state exam for CNA and phlebotomy that is required?

-After completing the CNA program, Aspiring Medical Training Institute will forward a copy of your certification to Headmaster so that you can register for the exam. This is a two-step certification process. The first is the written exam and the second is the hands-on skill exam. There are now accommodations such as a virtual verbal exam. After passing the exam, you will be certified. We will discuss in detail during orientation and weekly as you begin to prepare for testing. No worries as we will walk you through step-by-step setting up your testing date.

Phlebotomy does have a national certification, but not all facilities require the national recognized certification. However, it’s always encouraged for self-gratification to complete the highest achieving goal, as you will stand apart from others. Am I only allowed to work in Nursing Homes with my CNA license?

-No the various settings that one can work is unlimited. Some examples include hospitals, office settings, urgent care, skilled nursing homes, correctional settings, schools, and etc.

Am I able to become a traveling CNA or Phlebotomist once I’m certified?

-Yes, after gaining experience your opportunities are endless. As stated, you can travel the world, with your certifications. Ask us how, and who to connect with during enrollment.
